Health, and occupational health and safety Initiatives

The Group creates work environments where employees can work with reassurance and enthusiasm by implementing initiatives to protect employee safety and health.

Creating Safe Work Environments

The Group has introduced occupational safety and health management systems at production factories and works to create and maintain safe work environments. Particular attention is paid to safety measures for production equipment that poses a high risk of critical accidents, and countermeasures based on risk assessments are implemented. As the workforce ages, we are also implementing initiatives to prevent falling accidents and create worker-friendly work environments.

Initiatives to Maintain and Improve Health

Activities in fiscal 2017 included health and food education seminars intended to provide accurate food knowledge and “smokerlyzer checks” to promote smoking cessation. At health and exercise seminars held in July and October, former professional players of Cerezo OSAKA and the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and a dance academy instructor delivered a presentation on health and provided coaching on stretching with approximately 170 persons in attendance.

Promoting Mental Health

As a part of initiatives to promote good mental health in order to create workplaces where employees can work with enthusiasm, the Group conducts annual stress checks*. Feedback on the results is provided to individual employees to promote awareness of stress as well as measures to address it. Analysis of the results for each organization is performed for use in the creation of workplace environments that facilitate work.
