Supplier Monitoring

We ask for the understanding and cooperation of the NH Foods Group suppliers with regard to the NH Foods Group Sustainable Procurement Policy and NH Foods Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines.
After that, we ask them to answer the SAQ* and confirm and investigate the status of their efforts in accordance with the NH Foods Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines. After confirming that all questions of SAQ have been answered and that all responses are clear, we analyze the risks contained therein and conduct hearings if any risks are found.

Dissemination of Policies and Guidelines

We are asking for understanding and cooperation with regard to the NH Foods Group Sustainable Procurement Policy and NH Foods Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines through visits, online briefings, email, and traditional mail.

Surveys Using the SAQ

The SAQ monitors efforts across six areas: compliance with laws and social norms and building a system for compliance, securing the quality and safety of products and services, fair and impartial transactions, respect for human rights, promotion of health management and occupational safety and health, and concern for the global environment.

If a serious risk is discovered in the SAQ results, we then verify the risk through hearings. Based on the analysis results of responses received thus far, however, we have confirmed that there are no risks that require hearings.
Although we have seen progress across the board in efforts to comply with laws, regulations, and social norms and to build a system for compliance, to ensure the quality and safety of products and services, and to promote respect for human rights, we found problems with the implementation of efforts regarding concern for the global environment. We are therefore providing feedback to make improvements as appropriate.

In addition, we provide suppliers who responded to the SAQ with feedback reports that disclose the averages across all companies, and that compile advice for improving upon items that fall below the average.

Monitoring Results

In 2017, the NH Foods Group created the NH Foods Group CSR Procurement Policy and NH Foods Group CSR Procurement Guidelines, and started supply chain management. From the following year, 2018, targets have been set every two years.
